Soca artiste kills man
A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a well-known soca artiste for the death of 24-year-old Dillon Cruicks-hank. According to reports, around 7.30 am the 26-year-old entertainer had a physical confrontation with a relative over money at an Enterprise village, Chaguanas house when Dillon Cruickshank, alias ‘Cowback’ got involved. During the confrontation several shots rang out hitting Dillon about the body. Relatives quickly rushed the bleeding man to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he died. The singer of a popular 2003 song fled the scene following the shooting. When Sunday Newsday visited the family home angry relatives refused to talk while hurling several expletives. Neighbours however described the gunman, "as a very spoilt brat, who grew up to be a monster before his family." Residents also told Sunday Newsday that David Cruickshank, father of Dillon and the gunman had regular "cuss-outs" and fights. Further investigations revealed that police had the soca artiste under police surveillance for several months following several pending gun related charges before the court. Cpl Villurel of the Chaguanas Police station is investigating.
