Sidey’s shut out Mason Hall 2-0
SIDEY’S crept into second place, two points adrift of defending champions St Clair’s Coaching School, with a 2-0 shut out of Mason Police Youth Club in the Warner Group of Companies-Sponsored Tobago Football Association Permier League. Enjoying home advantage at their Speyside ground on Thursday, Sidey’s got goals from the Gray brothers. First Akino Gray gave them the lead and brother Ryan assured the points over the cellar-placed Mason Hall team. But previous second-placed challengers Roxborough Lakers dropped two vital points in a 0-0 draw with Georgia FC at their home ground in Roxborough. Lakers now slip to third on 14 points, three behind leaders St Clair’s and one less than Sidey’s. Bethel United advanced into a challenging position with victory over Stokelyvale at Mt Gomery. Bethel shut out Stokelyvale 2-0 with a goal in each half, first by the prolific Jason Surrey, and the other by Mervyn McMillan. But Charlotteville Unifiers missed a good chance to leap into third spot when they were held 1-1 by Pepsi Hills United at Richmond. Eustace Stewart gave Hills the lead which they held on to until Unifiers were awarded a penalty which Kevern Murphy blasted into the net to rescue a point for his team. Meanwhile, Earlbrokes edged Argyle Youth Stars 2-1 to haul themselves from one before last to joint second in the Eastern Conference.
