Teenager escapes abductors

A 17-year-old teenager who was kidnapped last Tuesday, is back home with his family. Nicholas Mahabir escaped from a house in Santa Cruz shortly after 3 pm yesterday and alerted someone who took him to the Santa Cruz Police Station. He was later reunited with his family. Nicholas was liming with friends Raffique Hosein, Mark Chin Ying and two other teenagers in a shed at Don Miguel Extension Road at 9.30 pm on Tuesday, when a white car with four armed men pulled up. The men, who shielded their faces with bandanas, pointed their guns at the teenagers. The gunmen then beat the teenagers before dragging Mahabir into the car and speeding away.
