Connection come from behind
ALL THREE scheduled 17th round matches in the T&T Pro League ended in stalemates on a dramatic day of action on Tuesday. Leaders W Connection maintained their 13-point cushion with a come-from-behind 2-2 draw against United Petrotrin at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva. Jamal Ayres got Petrotrin’s opener on the stroke of half-time, before Gefferson Goulart responded for Connection in the 51st. Former Trinidad and Tobago youth team striker Jerol Forbes restored Petrotrin’s edge a minute later but Connection’s Earl Jean equalised in the 54th to ensure a share of the points between both teams. Caledonia AIA/Fire and Tobago United also fought to a 2-2 draw at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima, with ex-TT forward Nigel "Croc" Pierre scoring an 85th minute equaliser for Caledonia as they were forced to come from behind against the lads from the sister isle. Another veteran striker Titus Elva gave Caledonia a 15th minute lead before Noel Williams turned the tables in Tobago’s favour with items in the 45th and 65th. And, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo, Defence Force and CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh battled to a 1-1 draw, with Kevon Carter putting Defence Force in front in the 23rd before Josh Johnson levelled the scores in the 38th.
