Gamblers, Copper Bullets in Valencia windball final

The match is scheduled to get underway from 3 pm at the Valencia Recreation Ground.

Winners will collect $4,000 with $1,800 for the runners-up.

Preceding the final will be the battle for third place beween Sangre Grande Cunapo Boys and Topshotters from noon. Winners of this contest will get $1,000.

The competition is named after Boucal who is regarded as the founder of competitive windball cricket in the mid 1970s in the Valencia district.

An official of the league said yesterday that 16 teams took part in the competition which was very successful. However he said much is desired from the authorities to provide better playing fields and programmes especially for the young people and women.
