Bon Voyage, Mandela ready for ‘em

The seven-year-old gelding Bon Voyage was very lively in clocking a smart 36.54 seconds for the trip.

But Mandela went almost a full second faster, being timed in 35.90 seconds, galloping out of the boxes.

Divine Glory who holds the engagement in the 1100 metres race for imported two-year-oods and over on the turf course, galloped to gether with Arouca Girl over 1000 metres and were clocked in a handy one minute 04.35 seconds from the boxes.

Also having a handy run over the trip was Salute The Colours from the Grant Lourenco barn.

This three-year-old who is also in the fray for im;ported two and three-year-olds, went smoothly to clock one minute 06.75 seconds on the turf.

And Soul Asylum, down to contest the day’s feature Starter Allowance race over 1300 metres, cruised through his 1000 metres gallop in a handy one minute 09.99 seconds.

Native Love one of 13 runners in the optional claiming race over 1800 metres on the turf course nailed down an 800 metres gallop in 51.20 seconds.

Hy Arimaalso holding this same engagement went steadily over 1000 metres in a handy one minute09.26 seconds.

Most other stables concentrated on pace work in preparation for Saturday’s nine-rac programme.

Opening event is a 1200 metres run for the two-year-old ‘"babes" in which All For Java is set to clash with Nursery Stakes winner Sara’s Music.

When the Shaffique Khan-trained son of Java In Flight/Set All showed his rival the way home on his debut.

And since then All For Java has thrived immensely and will take plenty of beating n Saturday’s race if all goes well.
