Cricketers in trial match
TRINIDAD and Tobago cricketer Jason Mohammed will attempt to guide his team to victory over the Gregory Mahabir XI for a second time, when the teams meet in a three-day match at the Munroe Road Cricket ground, Cunupia starting today. Mohammed’s team consists of a number of key players such as fastbowler Mervyn Dillon, alrounder Samuel Badree and Sherwin Ganga. Mohammed’s XI got the better of their counterparts by 264 runs courtesy a series of allround performances at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain Couva last weekend. Mahabir’s team also had a couple of good performances coming from Sunil Narine, Imran Khan, Rodney Sooklal and Theodore Modeste. This time around they will be hoping to rebound from an embarassing defeat but more so, the players will be hoping to impress the selectors with hope of earning a place in the Trinidad and Tobago team for the regional Carib Beer Cup starting next month.
