Man in court for Cedros murder


A 25-YEAR-OLD relative of murdered Cedros fisherman, Sham Ganness, will appear before a Point Fortin magistrate today charged with his murder on Sunday.


The relative was charged yesterday by acting Cpl Garcia of the Point Fortin Police Station, after instructions were given by the Director of Public Prosecutions for charges to be laid against him.


Ganness, 50, of Fullerton Village, died on Sunday of stab wounds to the chest.


The incident occurred at Ganness’ home at about 3 am. According to police reports, Ganness was arguing with a female relative when the male relative allegedly stabbed him in the chest with a knife.


Police obtained statements from several witnesses, including the female relative with whom Ganness had reportedly argued with.
