Dinner Silence, Bold As Brass step lively

The two posted a sizzling gallop over 800 metres on a sloppy track yesterday morning, getting back in 46.74 seconds.

This was indeed a good gallop by the paid and Bold As Brass is being aimed at Saturday’ s "big race," the Arima Race Club Stewards’ Cup over 1200 metres.

And two-year-old Sara’s Music held his own with the older Life In Russia also over 800 metres in a handy 52.96 seconds.

But what could be regarded as the gallop of the morning came from Jamaican-bred who gave jockey Jody Arneaud his 100th winner last time out. This three-year-old chestnut gelding outstepped Sunday Jewel in a 1000 metres gallop in a time of one minute 02.85 seconds and must be kept on the right side.

Most of the handful of runners out yesterday morning, preparing for Saturday’s meet, elected to do pace work.

Among those seen out on Sunday morning, Twice Infallible was the pick of the Stewards’ Cup runners with a one minute 01.2 seconds clocking for a 1000 metres gallop.

The 1200 metres sprint for Imported Juveniles is shaping up to be a scorcher if gallops form is any indication.

Bright Kingwas worked over 800 metres and he returned in the good time of 48.2 seconds and Stravinsky’s Secret showed he will be in the hunt with a clocking of one minute 01.2 seconds for a 1000 metres spin. Not far behind was Enchanted Lake who stepped 1000 metres in one minute 02.4 seconds and Ice Timber who is gathering lots of friends, did the trip in one minute 04.4 seconds.
