Miss Lover Lover to end Stewards’ Cup jinx

The five-year-old American-bred daughter of Friendly Lover/Winning Spurs

relished the sloppy conditions to clock a fast 47.73 seconds for an 800 metres gallop yesterday morning.

The mare will again be saddled by the astute ex-champion jockey Edmund de Freitas and ridden by Gary Laban.

But a gallop which opened eyes was recorded by two-year-old star All For Java who was sent out to accompany 2003 triple crown and Champion Stakes three-peater Top Of The Class.

The juvenile held his ground like a man in the gallop which began from the 1200 metres marker, and when the clock went on from the 800 metres mark it stopped with the duo passing the post in 50.88 seconds.

Golden Grades showed some fire in a 600 metres gallops timed in 43.05 seconds.

And Kavita Nadira enjoying the slop skipped across 800 metres in a handy 50.43 seconds.

Most stables kept their charges indoors yesterday morning, but they are expected to give them their final sharpening up run this morning before Saturday’s card.
