St Vincent, Guyana women win
ST VINCENT and the Grenadines and Guyana took early leads in this year’s West Indies Cricket Board Under-23 Women Cricket Championship. The St Vincent women were bowled out for 69 in 36 overs at Munroe Road, Cunupia with Shadean Nipion taking twpo for 18, Stephanie Taylor two for 11, Jodi-Ann Morgan three for ten. But when the Jamaican lasses batted they were bundled out for for 52 in 30.2 overs with Perisha Lavie taking three for six, Kellorn Petal two for 14, Rochelle John two for ten and Kay-Ann Charles two for 12 . In a match reduced to 30 overs at the National Cricket Centre, Guyana easily whipped Barbados by seven wickets. After restricting the Bajans to 89 for seven in their 30 overs, the Guyanese raced to 90 for three wickets led by June Ojla who stroked a fine unbeaten 36. The Trinidad and Tobago match against a Development XI at Riversdale ground was called off because the ground was unfit. Summarised scores: ST VINCENT & GRENADINES 69 vs JAMAICA 52 - S Taylor 15.
