RBTT tennis off to good start


ISHAN GOSINE crushed Kevin Sammy 8-0 as the 28th annual RBTT-sponsored junior tennis tournament served off at the PSA Tennis Centre, St James.


This match was the lone fixture in the Boys Under-16 division yesterday.


There were seven matches in the Boys Under-14 section, with Graeme Araujo overcoming Christopher Woo 8-5 while Alexander Fraser registered an 8-4 win over Andrew George. All the other encounters were lopsided affairs, with Dillon Carmino cruising past Kyle Wiltshire 8-1, Nick Lee Lum disposing of Jelani Robertson by the same scoreline, Khalil Moore hammering Nicolas McNeill 8-0, Kyle Delzin and Jabrille Kabli crushing Bradley Mazely and Chad Mitchell by 8-2 margins respectively.


In the Girls Under-14 category, Stephanie Nahous trounced Anisa Daniel 8-0, Shiraayne Williams crushed Samantha Ovid 8-1, Nalini Maharaj whipped Israel Abraham 8-2 and Shontelle Yearwood got the better of Amy De Freitas 8-4.


Nadia Ramoutar hammered Akilah Edwards-Rose 8-0 in the girls Under-16, while Akila James eased past Tammy Furlonge 8-3 and Rachel Constance defeated Sinead Beokiesingh 8-4.
