Bravo re-signs with Wormwood

BILLINGSHURST, England: West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has signed a new three-year deal with English gear company Wormwood, following his successful tour of Australia late last year.

The 22-year-old, who was a stand-out in the West Indies 3-0 humbling by Australia recently, will continue in the company of England’s Andrew Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen and James Anderson, along with Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan.

Bravo’s previous Woodworm contract came to and end while in Australia and after his outstanding performances there, moved quickly to renew the player’s deal.

"Dwayne has already demonstrated in his international career to date that he is a player of immense potential. In nine Test matches, he has already scored two hundreds and recorded two six-wicket hauls against top-class opposition," Joe Sillett, Woodworm’s managing director, explained.

"With time on his side at the age of 22, Dwayne has a very bright future and we at Woodworm want to be a part of that. His all-round cricketing skills, allied to his desire to reach the top make him a perfect Woodworm ambassador."

Tim Nafziger, Bravo’s business manager, added: "Once Dwayne hooked up with Woodworm, he didn’t want to go anywhere else so we are both very happy to have signed this new deal."

"Over the last 12 months, Dwayne has done very well with Woodworm equipment and in addition to this, is a big admirer and now friend of Andrew Flintoff.

"We are certain that this will be an excellent partnership for all of us."

Bravo scored 214 runs in his two Tests Down Under, at an average of 53.50 while taking eight wickets at an average of 25.12.
