Top jockeys to ride at Santa Rosa Park

The jockeys are new Jamaica champion, Trinidadian Brian Harding and Patrick Husbands, an ex-champ at Woodbine Racecourse, in Canada.

Christopher Husbands, no relation to Patrick and Jonathan Grant, both of Barbados, are the apprentices.

Racing secretary Robin Jaisingh has put together a very competitive 10-race programme for Saturday.

And turfites will have their work cut out for them in spotting winners of the various races.

There are only seven runners in the feature Starter Allowance over 1200 metres. But any in the field can take the top slice of the purse in the race worth a total of $23,000. Among those holding the engagement in the sprint are speedsters Salsa Moves, Marci’s Dreamer, Rhythm Divine and Movietowne Magic.

Turfites will face another brain twister in the Conditional Handicap in which a field of ten horses go to post for the $20,000 race over 1200 metres.

Engaged in this one are quick-stepping Soundsgoodtume, Life In the Sky, Trini Calling and the Jamaican-bred Snooky Lou.
