Endeavour, Aranguez win in Sunday League


ENDEAVOUR Sports Club scored their first win of the season when they defeated Invaders Sports Club at Felicity in the Carib Sunday League Limited Overs Cricket Competition yesterday.


The Endeavour men were bowled out for 120 all out in their allotted 50 overs in their Group "B" encounter.


But they proceeded to bowl out Invaders for a meagre 104 runs to win by 16-run.


In Group "C", British American Aranguez Sports Club beat Tile It Central Sports at Aranguez ground.


Tile It Central were routed for a paltry 58 off 25.1 overs with Barry Nicholas taking three wickets for eight runs and T Garraway three for 24. But Aranguez were made to struggle to reach 59 for four wickets off 16.2 overs


Meanwhile, rain again forced the postponement of the match between Couva Sports and Mayo Valley Boys at Union Hall, San Fernando.


At Diego Martin, however, Ceramic Merryboys scored their second win in as many matches, beating Joe Public Munroe Road by 22 runs in in a Group "A" match.


"Man of the Match" Mario Belcon turned in a good allround performance hitting 33 in Merryboys 134 for six wickets in (25 overs).


Belcon took three wickets for 24 runs when Munroe Road batted, and they were all out for 112.
