Dr Singh stars for Spring Village


BAMBOO BOYZ scored their first win of the Bamboo Settlement Cricket Competition at the weekend when they easily got the better of Court Boyz.


Court Boyz batted first and made 45 all out. However Timmy Singh lashed an unbeaten 24 and Rajiv Lalchan finished not out on 16 to spearhead the Bamboo Boyz victory.


Rakesh Ramsaran also helped in the win taking three wickets for just two runs assisted by Bharat Mungroo claimed three wickets for eight runs.


On Sunday, Suresh Rajkumar made 22 and Keron Daniel 18 as AYG clobbered One Touch in another key contest of the weekend’s programme.


Marcus Ali also contributed an unbeaten 17 while Daniel claimed two wickets for seven runs as AYG tallied 105 for the loss of nine runs in the allotted overs. One Touch were restricted to 67 for the loss of seven in their turn at the crease.


For One Touch Mahindra Boodram made 27 in the losing total while Rocky Balgobin took five wickets for 24 runs.


For Spring Village, Dr Hospedales Singh took some time out to guide his team to victory over , Bamboo All Stars in another match. Dr Singh made fine 40 to almost single handedly lead his team to 79 for the loss of seven wickets. Augustus Ali also made 11 in the total, and then looked on as Dale Jaggessar take two wickets for four runs to help restrict All Stars to 46 for nine


Bamboo All Stars got 16 from Shival Mahabir and 11 from Sheldon Froix in their losing effort.


Trades Men also pulled off a well-deserved victory on Sunday when they got the better of Ah Cricket Side.


Emmit Panchu and Ryan Basdeo each made 25 as the Trades Men— responding to their opponents’ 47— made 78 for four. Trades Men got three wickets each from Ramnath Kasseram and Azharuddin Ali to help spearhead the win.


Ah Cricket Team got runs from Vishal Kalicharan (10) and a similar score from Ravi Sookwah in the losing tally.


In another match Road Runners made 43 for four— courtesy 22 runs from Riaz Mohammed— to get the better of Plain Truth.


Vishnu Rajaram hit 18 as Plain Truth made 41 all out in their innings. And in response Road Runners made 43 for the loss of just four wickets.
