BODY OF SIX-YEAR-OLD CHILD FOUND OVER CLIFF
The body of a six-year-old child was found lodged between some rocks at Battery Point in Buccoo, Tobago, yesterday morning. Jeremiah Haynes, a second year pupil of the Buccoo Government Primary School, was found by two passersby at 6.30 am, lying some 40-50 feet down a cliff near the University of Trinidad and Tobago campus site. The youth was reportedly last seen alive by relatives on Sunday evening on his way to a nearby pan tent. He was reported missing by his grandmother when he failed to return home later that night. Villagers were said to have searched for him on Sunday night, but came up empty-handed. Instead, relatives were informed that Jeremiah’s body was found a short distance away from the house where he lived with his grandmother and aunt, Nikesha Dillon, who identified the body. Investigating officers believe that Jeremiah succumbed to injuries sustained when he fell off the cliff. Old Grange police officers are continuing investigations.
