Wife of Govt Minister faces traffic charges

The wife of a Govern-ment Minister is expected to be charged via summons later this week with two traffic offences.

Police reports revealed that the woman was driving her Skoda vehicle north along La Sieva Road, Maraval, about 2.45 pm on Saturday.

She was in the process of overtaking a parked vehicle when she saw another vehicle approaching in the opposite direction. This caused her to stop in the middle of the roadway in the south lane.

She came into contact with another vehicle, causing that vehicle to run off the roadway.

The front fender and the right side of her vehicle’s headlight were damaged, while the bumper and wheel of the other vehicle were also damaged.

A report was made to the St Clair Police Station and a file is expected to be submitted to senior officers later this week for their directions in the matter.
