3 teens wanted for death of schoolboy

DETECTIVES probing the sexual assault and mysterious drowning of New Grant schoolboy Dane Andrews have begun to conduct searches for three teenagers.

Yesterday, the search was futile as no one has been able to disclose any evidence to identify the persons with whom Andrews went to the pond on Wednesday February 1.

Andrews had failed to return home after school. The next day his body was found in a caiman-infested pond. His underclothes were discovered nearby. An autopsy revealed that Andrews had been sexually assaulted.

On Wednesday, detectives got permission to have one of Andrews’ classmates medically examined. Andrews allegedly went to his home before leaving for the pond with the three teenagers.

The medical examination proved that the boy had not been sexually assaulted.

However, police yesterday said that a schoolboy gave police a description of the three teenagers. Sketches were made of them and detectives have since been in New Grant in an attempt to locate the teenagers.

Yesterday, villagers at Monkey Town Third Branch Road were shown sketches of the teenagers. Investigations are continuing.
