James stars for Bermudez n-ballers
KATHY JAMES was in superb form scoring 34 of 36 attempts to lead Bermudez X to an exciting 48-44 victory over Police and a share of the lead in the Alternative Division of this year’s Courts All Sectors Netball League. Aided by goal-attack Julia Britto who netted 14 of her 19 attempts, the Bermudez women led throughout 9-8; 24-22; 34-31 in Thursday’s match at the Eastern Regional Indoor Arena, and held off a frantic final quarter rally by the policewomen. Kathy Ann Cain scored 22 goals, Claudia Joseph 14 and Tracy Regis eight for Police. Bermudez X now have 14 points, same as Cavaliers at the top of the standings. Fire moved up a notch in the same division with a comfortable 42-20 victory over TSTT. T’Shura Smart had 22 goals from 26 attempts, Adasha Norton got 17 of 26 and Tricia Roberts scored three of eight for the winners. Leslie Ann Legerton got 16 goals, Sarah Hutchinson made 13 and Leslie Sebro scored one for the telecommunications women.
