Sea Lots man murdered

Richard Julius alias “Proctor,” a handyman, was staying at the home of relatives in Sea Lots after complaining about threats to his life.

At about 8 pm on Wednesday, he was walking towards the home of his father when he was confronted by a lone gunman who shot him twice in the head.

He collapsed and died in a pool of blood.

His body was viewed by a District Medical Officer and ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

Yesterday, the sister of the dead man who did not wish to give her name said, she last saw her brother alive at about 6 pm on Wednesday, when he asked her for methylated spirit to clean a previous gunshot wound.

She said her brother was not a member of any gang but the company he kept was questionable.

The angry woman said that her brother never liked to work, but earned a living by being a handyman for the residents of Sea Lots.

He lived with his mother at Quarry Street, Laventille, and was staying at Sea Lots to recuperate from his last gunshot injuries.

She felt that the person who shot him dead was the same person who shot him on four previous occasions.

The murder of Julius is the 91st for the year.

Investigations are continuing.
