What’s going on?

What’s going on TT? What has taken over our society that we are producing such “monsters” and at such tender ages? It is time for each and everyone of us to stop and take stock in ourselves and see what we are doing to help produce these “devils.”

This self-evaluation needs to start in every home, church, school, government ministry and workplace. Every parent also needs to examine how they are bringing up their children and the values they are instilling in them. As we all know, there are many factors: social, political, religious, racial and more that are playing roles in molding the “monsters” we have roaming among us.

So I say, it is time to stop and take stock in ourselves and ask the question: What’s going on in our lives and to our once beautiful island home? How are we contributing to the decay of our long treasured values and most of all, how can we turn this ship around from the collision course it is on?

Come on TT, it is time for some serious soul-searching. The answers to our myriad of problems are in each and everyone of us, if we are to only look hard enough. All I know is that it is time for us to do something more (and different) than what we have been doing. This is not one that the government alone can solve. There is no magic wand to be waved to wish this evil away. It will take the efforts of each and everyone of us to make this one go away. I want to express my deep sympathy to the Luke-Lum Fai family and friends at this time of unbearable grief and anger, as you mourn the lost of young Sean. May he rest in peace.
