FPA makes plea to TT

In a statement, the FPA said the pain which Sean’s parents felt was impossible to imagine and offered prayers for them. The FPA said nothing much can be done to ease their suffering but people must get together to fight for the children.

“It is up to the law makers and enforcers to provide justice and safety for this country. However, we know this falls short, repeatedly. As parents and concerned citizens we must band together and do what we can to protect our families.”

The FPA said citizens must open their eyes and ears to everything around since extra caution is a necessity in today’s world.

“Saying you choose to live your life without fear is fine, until something happens to someone you love.”

The FPA said to be aware meant ensuring having as much information as possible on child abuse and abduction so children can be warned and prepared from an early age.

The FPA provided tips on safeguarding children against abduction. It said the primary responsibility for risk reduction must fall on parents and other caregivers but children must learn basic rules about avoiding danger.

Children, the FPA advised, should never get into a car, even with someone familiar without checking with a parent or caregiver first.
