Sankersingh slams IRO, Cyril Paul
At the NAR media briefing, at the party’s headquarters, Victoria Square south, Sankersingh said he could not tolerate the statement by IRO Leader Rev Cyril Paul that evil was stalking TT. He said everyone knew that evil was stalking the land but the IRO did not deal with the root of the problem.
He also dismissed parental problems and the school system as the factors to be blamed.
Sankersingh said other NAR members may disagree but the remark was very hypocritical with the whole issue. “They only offer platitudes, mutterings, mundane statements,” he said.
He said they never say why this was happening or “what we can do about it.”
Sankersingh said the NAR has warned for the past three years about the crime situation worsening but no one ever expected it to end up with Sean Luke. He said the boy had become “the conscience” of the society.
He said major problems in society cannot be tackled without looking at governance. Sankersingh said the most important fact in governing was getting people involved in decision making.
