TSTT dials in new customer care centre

Located at 112-114 Eastern Main Road (near McCarthy Street), the new centre opened for business on March 15, 2006 and has seen a steady flow of customers daily.

With a spacious interior, 12 customer service representatives (CSRs), several cashiers and a courtesy CSR to personally welcome the public, the centre provides a new level of convenience for accessing TSTT’s services.

Customer Charrandass Persaud said, “The service has been excellent so far; this is about my second visit to this centre and I am very pleased. A CSR phoned me on a service request I made on a previous visit. It was not expected but it was a pleasant surprise and I’ll give credit where credit is due. TSTT does seem to be paying better attention to serving customers.”

Lynn John-Ible, manager Customer Service Centre (North East), said there had been a great demand from customers for a centre in East Trinidad since their only alternatives previously were TSTT centres in Arima or Port-of-Spain.

“Taking these concerns into consideration and in light of the major telephone network improvement works happening in these environs and across the country, this new office will be a major benefit to existing and future customers,” John-Ible stated. At the St Augustine centre, customers can apply for landlines and Internet service, purchase phone cards, make bill payments, get printouts of bills (not mobile) and make repair reports, among other things.

One added feature of the St Augustine centre is a bank of computers at which customers can “test-drive” the speed of TSTT’s ADSL Internet service to see if it measures up to their expectations before buying the service.

Before opening, staff underwent rigorous training to ensure that they would be able to handle the needs of the customer.
