‘Heroes’ educate students on careers
The three-day convention, which concludes tomorrow has as its theme: “Free your mind...Aim for your goals.”
Students were informed of courses and degree programmes available at the College of Science, Technology, and Applied Arts of TT, (COSTAATT), the University of Trinidad and Tobago, (UTT) and the Holy Cross International Career Centre. The convention also featured a number of exhibiton booths from several companies, including the National Gas Company (NGC) and Beacon Insurance, as well as the Gaming Association of Trinidad and Tobago and the Alliance Group.
Students were also introduced to the work performed by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Family Planning Association and the National Aids Coordinating Committee.
Aspiring artists were also treated to a presentation by Karl Kerschl of DC Comics, creators of such comic heroes as the X-MEN, including Wolverine, Storm and Cyclops.
The Heroes Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation which hosts events and field activities designed to empower and encourage the nation’s young people.
