Chutney Monarch preliminaries

Regarded as one of the premier events of the art form, contestants will sing on the topic “On D Road to Germany” in tribute of the Soca Warriors entry into the World Cup. The competition is supported by FIFA vice-president Jack Warner who has said that TT’s coach Leo Beenhakker and Dwight York will be on stage for the official ceremony on the final night May 6, at Skinner Park, San Fernando.

The National Chutney Foundation (NCFTT), organisers of the event, is the official organisation representing this cultural art form.

The preliminaries begin at 2 pm and some of the artistes performing include Neeshan Praboo (The Hit Man) Ramdeen Falco Mahraj, Devanand Gattoo, Drupati Persad and Marva McKenzie.
