‘PH’ driver shot and robbed of car

Police said Chaitram Ramsingh, 41, of Broomage, was plying his Nissan B-13 for hire in San Fernando at around 4 am when he picked up two men who asked to be taken to Princes Town.

Ramsingh said while driving through Ste Madeleine in the vicinity of the NESC building, one of the men pulled out a firearm and announced a hold-up.

Ramsingh said the gunman shot him in his leg and the other man threw him out of the vehicle. They then escaped with Ramsingh’s $30,000 vehicle. PC Teeluck is investigating the matter.
