Ramesh still waiting to re-enter UNC

Panday and Maharaj recently reconciled, with Panday offering Maharaj a UNC Senate seat. The two men warmly embraced at a UNC rally at Mid Centre Mall.

While some observers say the UNC is taking too long to readmit Maharaj, Panday yesterday tried to play down these concerns.

“It’s being processed according to the rules of the party,” he explained.

He said the UNC has a committee which looks at applications for membership. “The party has its rules and operates by these rules,” Panday said.
