Abu Bakr back in court April 28

Almost two hours after the matter was called in-chamber before Madame Justice Joan Charles at the Port-of-Spain Second Criminal Court yesterday, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Geoffrey Henderson, State attorney Tricia Hudlin and Bakr’s attorneys Theodore Guerra SC and Owen Hinds Jnr emerged from the courtroom, without setting a date for the trial.

Bakr is charged with conspiring to murder two expelled members of the Jamaat namely Salim Rasheed and Zaki Aubidah on June 4, 2003, at Citrine Drive, Diamond Vale in Diego Martin.

The Imam will return to court for another cause list hearing on April 28.
