there is a spiritual aspect to life.

Manning made this statement while speaking at the “Political Leader’s Annual Children’s Programme,” at Balisier House.

The event was attended by over 600 children from schools across the island and had as its theme: “Let The Little Children Come To Me.” Manning, who sang along to hymns sung by children performing on the stage, was earlier praised by the party’s assistant General Secretary Rose Janniere, for pioneering the event in which children go to Balisier House every year, to pray.

Manning told the audience about the importance of their relationship with the Creator.

“Christians believe in God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. And your relationship

with God, through His Son, is the most important aspect of life we see today.

“Many feel there is a breakdown in the moral fibre of our society and it is very encouraging to see so many girls and boys, paying tribute to Almighty God,” Manning said.

The PM added that he was always touched by what he saw when he attended this event the Wednesday before Easter at Balisier House.

He added that the talent of the children who performed showed the future of Trinidad

and Tobago was in very good hands.

He applauded teachers for their handling of the “awesome responsibility” in developing

the nation’s children and ensuring less and less of the current generation is left on the wayside.

A physically-challenged child from Charis Works Christian Academy led a group from that institution in choral speaking, in which they spoke about the abuse of children and gunshots in school. The student begged that the Lamb of God be brought back to school.
