In the Girls’ Under-14 category, Fausthyara Pietersz of the Netherlands Antilles crushed Sarah Hew of Suriname 6-0, 6-1 but Hew’s sister Nathalie got the better of TT’s Cristina Bennett 6-3, 6-4.

The Boys’ Under-18 “semis” lasted only two sets each as Lazare Kukhalashvili of Georgia swept past Borut Puc of Slovenia 6-0, 6-3 while Bahamas’ Jamaal Adderley overwhelmed Zalan Klempa of Slovakia 6-2, 6-3.

In the girls’ equivalent, Russian Margarita Edinarova overcame Maria Girda Reccardini of Italy 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 but Sarah Guzick of the United States strolled past Valeriya Solovieva of Russia 6-1, 6-1.
