High speed chase ends with arrest

The incident occurred after three suspects stole the $80,000 car at gunpoint. Anthony James was held up by the three suspects around 9.35 pm. At the time he was sitting in his black Honda Civic motor car near an apartment on Lady Hailes Avenue, Embacadere. One of the men, who was armed with a gun, ordered James out of his vehicle and robbed him of his cell phone. They then fled the scene in his car

James immediately reported the incident to the police and an All Point Bulletin was issued for the stolen vehicle. The stolen car was spotted at Bamboo Junction, La Romaine, by CSU officers. Cpl Andrew Licourish, PCs Steve Sahadeo, Brian Sudeen and Victor.

A high speed chase ensued and the car was eventually intercepted at George Street, La Romaine. Two suspects escaped into nearby bushes but the third was arrested by police. According to reports, a .45 calibre pistol and several rounds of ammunition were found in his possession.

The 22-year-old suspect, of Lillian Street, La Romaine, was charged with robbery with aggravation and possession of arms and ammunition. He is due to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate on Tuesday.
