Cops probe Mayaro rape

Police report that the woman, 23, was at her Mayaro home on Tuesday with her two-year-old daughter, when the man showed up at about 12.45 pm.

As she spoke with him in the living room he made sexual advances which she resisted, shoving him away. The man ignored her and raped her.

In order to leave the house to escape her attacker after she was raped, the woman tricked the man into believing she had to attend a function, but instead went to the Mayaro Police Station where she reported the incident.

Hours later the man was arrested. He is expected to be charged with the offence.
