Rawytee and Ricky thrill Couva

Singers Rawytee Ramroop and Ricky Khandoo were both excellent in their performances. They did several of the top selections taken from their latest CD Rhythm Invasions.

Among the musicians that supported these singers were Steve Boodhan (base - guitar/arranger), John Ramdeen (rhythm guitar), Kevin Khan (synthesiser) and Robert Ramroop (rhythm machine and dholak).

The crowd went wild when Rawytee belted out “Heaven.” Ricky then serenaded the women in the audience, giving out scented roses while he sang “Gawaa Hai.”

Apart from the entertainment the women participated in a “pick-ah-pan” contest for a jackpot of $500.

Rawytee then sang “Young Love.” She told the gathering that women should join together and fight negative influences in their life.

“We want to be loved not beaten. We want to be like flowers decorating this world. Women play a great role in moulding society and the men must show us the due respect,” she said.

Manager of the White Diamonds Ancil Motilal gave out hampers to many of the women who were on the dance floor that night.
