Digicel to sponsor East Indian icons

In a press statement yesterday, Sandra Welch-Farrell, Communications said Digicel had joined forces with Rana and Susan Mohip Entertainment in a sponsorship arrangement. The couple is the newest addition to the growing list of local celebrities being sponsored by Digicel.

Digicel’s CEO Stephen Brewer said, “The two professionals are yet another example of how very talented citizens of this country are. When you pave the way for others to follow like Rana and Susan have done, then you know undoubtedly that you are making your mark in society.”

The couple’s orchestra and dance troupe have successfully performed at the San Fernando World Jazz Festival, Divali Nagar and Barbados’ Crop Over. They will soon launch the Saream International Orchestra which Digicel will assist with sponsorship.

Rana and Susan Mohip join local stars David Rudder and Destra Garcia in Digicel’s advertising team. The telecom company was the official sponsor for Rudder and Garcia during the 2006 Carnival season.
