Power 102, no operators licence
RADIO Vision Limited, operators of Power 102 FM, appeared in court yesterday to face two charges of operating a radio communication service without a licence granted by the Telecommunications Autho-rity of Trinidad and Tobago.
The case was called without much fanfare before Magistrate Halcyon Yorke-Young in the Port-of-Spain Third Magistrates’ Court.
When the matter was called, two persons stood before the court — Karyl Gajadhar, Compliance Analyst with the Telecommunications Autho-rity, and Lennox Toussaint, chief executive officer, of Radio Vision Limited.
It is alleged that on March 14, 2006 at 88-90 Abercromby Street, Port-of-Spain, Radio Vision Limited operated a radio communication service without a licence granted by the Telecommunications Author-ity.
It was further alleged that Radio Vision Ltd operated a radio communications service on April 4. Toussaint, who represented Radio Vision, stood in the dock. He was then asked by the magistrate for a plea to which he said not guilty.
The Authority was represented by attorney Sean Cazabon, and Radio Vision Ltd by Jason Mootoo.
Cazabon told the court that he was ready to proceed with the case, but Mootoo was not. He asked for an adjournment of four weeks to prepare his case for the radio station.
Cazabon said he was not resisting the application for an adjournment, but he asked for an earlier date. But both sides could not agree on an earlier date, so the magistrate adjourned the case to June 22.
