More financial legislation

She said Government would soon bring further financial legislation, which would deal with pensions. This legislation, she said, would address the portability and transferability of pensions.

The Government’s financial sector legislation, she said, was designed to protect both investors and pensioners.

On the issue of locally regulating mutual funds, which she called “collective investment schemes”, she said this was done by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) whose existing guidelines were being drafted as legislation to take to Parliament for approval.
