Rajendra Dhanraj takes Victoria to title

Dhanraj who is heavily tipped to take away the “Cricketer of the Year” title in the South East Zone firstly scored 70 in taking his team to 358 for nine declared.

He then returned with the ball to grab six for 36 to bowl out Mafeking for 141. Following on, Mafeking again fell to the wizardry of Dhanraj, as he plucked out six for 42 to humble them for 182.

In Division Two, Rio Sports were declared winners after crushing United Barrackpore by ten wickets at Scale Number Five.

Batting first Barrackpore declared 71 for eight. Rio Claro replied with 177 to take a lead of 106 runs. Batting again Barrackpore made 128, leaving Rio Sports with the simple task of getting 23 runs for victory, which they got without losing a wicket.

Nazarites were crowned Division Three champions, thanks to the brilliance of Robert Ramoutar. Ramoutar bowling his off-spin grabbed four wickets for six runs to bowl out New Grant for 80. He then scored 84 to take Nazarites to 325 for seven declared. His heroics continued in the second innings, as he took three for 11 to bowl out New Grant for 46 and claim the win for his team.
