Perverts at young age

Some fathers and mothers display their promiscuous and wanton lifestyles in full view of their children, so from a very tender age they grow up believing that such behaviour is condoned by society. Some young kids believe that alcohol and sex go hand in hand because this is promoted in many of our advertisements. I need to point out that teachers of a pre-school reported to me last Friday that they were very concerned with a 13-year-old male student who regularly fondled himself while staring at three and four-year-old girls. This sick teenage boy attends a school next to the early childhood centre.

The situation is such that we can’t even trust children with other children. It’s a fact that many young girls, and to some extent boys are raped and sodomised by step-fathers, biological fathers, as well as by their close relatives and friends on whom they mistakenly put their trust.

Some so-called respectable people preaching morals, values and God’s word have betrayed our children.

We can’t even trust some guidance officers around our children. There are also a few dangerous teachers and principals in our system who should not be trusted with our kids. They have committed acts of perversion against our children but for some reason, they have never been axed from the teaching profession. A few of them are sometimes suspended but they are usually reinstated. You see, their wicked acts are covered up, hence the reason they are never charged and punished.

Citizens for a Better Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT) calls on the Church, once again, to help with the many social ills in society. This honourable institution should try to reach out to the youth of the nation from an early age.
