Rastas fun with Irie Willie
Invited guests were told to don rasta wigs and wear rasta clothing in order to be admitted into the party, held at the Harvard Club of which he is vice president as well.
As usual Pierre went all out to create an atmosphere of rastamania at the party that started at 2 pm last Saturday, having the club aptly decorated in cloth of synonymous rasta colours, red, gold and green, hanging from the ceiling boxing off the area of the shindig.
Pierre had his decorator Nigel Barrow do the honours, as well as produce cloth murals depicting Pierre himself as “Irie Willie.”
The rastamania didn’t stop there. DVD’s of the Tribute To Marley concert and a Bob Marley concert done in the 70s where shown on a big screen accompanied by a powerful sound system that had guests feeling the vibrations of the music. All the while incense burned around the club. Following the showing of the DVD’s the resident deejays played reggae songs one after another before the live entertainment came on.
Among those performing more reggae songs were Peter Cipriani, David Baptiste and Friends and Versatile.
The food included jerk chicken, of course.
Among some of the high-profile people attending the party in rasta wigs were TTFF President, Oliver Camps, Media 21 Managing Director, Tim Nafziger and Radio Trinbago’s Managing Director Vince Legere. Here are some highlights.
