Kenneth wins Agri Song contest

In his rendition Supersad urged people to go back to the soil and start planting again in order to provide sufficient food for the nation.

Penal-based singer Basdeo Jaikaran placed second with his song, “Our Forefather’s Crops.” Mohip Poonwassie placed third with “A Land So Fertile,” San Fernando-based Boodram Ramlogam placed fourth in this competition.

Prizes for this event was sponsored by the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, Hindu Credit Union, Unique Stores, Delta Glass, Dass Funeral Services, Roopnarine’s Hardware and Regal Products.

The competition brought to an end the five-day agricultural expo held to commemorate the 161st anniversary of Indian Arrival Day in TT.
