Remove all offensive symbols

It is interesting to note, however, that in Prime Minister Manning’s statement he referred to “other symbols and observances” that may offend others.

This is another correct move starting with “Indian Arrival Day.” Indians are not the only and indeed not even the first people to arrive. Emancipation Day is not named “African Arrival Day” and Indian Arrival could well be said to be discriminatory of others including Afros, Syrians, Chinese and anyone else. It is time to remove all the symbols of offence, not only the Trinity Cross.
