La Horquetta, women, be careful

I live at Phase 4, La Horquetta. On Wednesday May 24 2006, at 4.30 am my family and I were awakened by the sounds of somebody screaming and banging on our back door. On opening it, we saw a clearly terrified, shaking, young woman who informed us that she had just been attacked by a man.

Apparently, he had followed her as she left her house. When she realised that she was being followed, she came into my yard and began to scream and bang on the door. At this point the man came into the yard, threw her to the ground and put his hands over her mouth. When we opened the door he ran off, but not before my son saw a short individual whose head was tied up with a jersey.

I shudder to think what could have happened to that young woman if we had not opened the door because there is an alleyway behind the houses where she could have been easily dragged.
