Nelson St, Eastern Girls win Primary cricket

And Nelson Street Boys’ RC captured the title in their category for a second consecutive time when they defeated Sacred Heart Boys’ on Sunday last.

By their victory Eastern Girls will keep the trophy, having won it on three consecutive occasions.

Lady of Laventille were runners-up and Nelson Street Girls’ claimed the third place position.

Among the boys, Nelson Street Boys’ pulled off a well-deserved win over Sacred Heart at the St Paul Street Recreation ground, Port-of-Spain.

Captain Javon Williams was the star of the day as he made 24 with the bat in his team’s total of 126 for six wickets, then claimed four wickets for seven runs.

Sacred Heart could only manage a meagre 51 runs because of the pace, line and length of the talented Williams.

Both Eastern Girls and Nelson Street Boys’ are considered two of the better teams in the league.
