Swaha produces kids book - ‘Hum Hindu Hai’

The book contains ten chapters including: Myself, I am a Hindu, My Family, Respect for Parents, Greetings, Bhagwan, Worship - Prayer, Worship - Jal, Pandit and Mandir. Each chapter carries various illustrations outlining the meaning of each topic dealt with by the Swaha committee.

According to Pundit Prakash Persad pre-school education is perhaps the most important part of a child’s overall education. “At this age the child should be exposed to the kind of material that will help develop the individual. A child responds to the people and things and him or her,” he said. He noted that at Swaha their mission is to provide the unique environment for the overall development of the child.

Pun Persad endorses the book, Hum Hindu Hai saying that the chapters give the child’s an opportunity to learn about his religion. “The child’s ability to show respect for adults is also very important. This is outline in this book,” he said. Swaha which is a popular religious body in TT now has several branches throughout the country.
