Filipino doctor robbed

The victims Diemetrio Cruz, 46, a Philippino doctor of Edward Street, Princes Town, and Zinool Mohammed, 47, of Hermitage Village, Dumfries Road, San Fernando, both escaped with minor injuries, and are now on three days sick leave.

A police report stated that both men where conversing in front of the facility along Circular Street, Princes Town, when they were accosted by three cutlass wielding bandits. The report stated that the men all wearing bandanas on their faces announced a hold up pointing the cutlasses to the faces of the men.

A struggled ensued, and both victims were made to lie on the roadway where the bandits proceeded to rob them. Cruz, was robbed of a gold chain valued at $11,000 while his co-worker was robbed of two gold chains each valued $1,800. The bandits then escaped on foot. Communications Specialist at the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) Nalini Parasam, yesterday told Newsday that investigations are continuing.
