Disaster preparedness workshop

Recently, a small group representing the council attended a disaster preparedness workshop in Barbados which comprised presenters from World Relief in the USA and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CEDERA).

The council said the information received was very instructive in preparing for a disaster as well as for helping others in a disaster situation. As a result, the group met in Barbados and decided to replicate this workshop for the people of TT, using the same presenters.

The council is inviting the public to attend this disaster preparedness workshop as it believes everyone needs to know how to respond when a disaster strikes.

The sessions will be conducted from July 6-8, from 9 am to 3 pm at the Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre, Couva. It will cost participants $200, inclusive of lunch and handouts.
