PM in Washington for Caricom talks
Manning was expected to leave for Washington shortly after returning from Barbados. He had travelled to Barbados yesterday to attend the opening ceremony of the high level symposium of the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME). Manning, as chairman of Caricom, had delivered the feature address at the CSME symposium being held in Bridgetown. He returned home later in the day and was due to leave again last night for the US. Manning returns from Washington today.
During his absence Energy, Public Administration and Information Minister Dr Lenny Saith will act as PM, while Conrad Enill will act as Minister of Finance.
Also travelling overseas was Sport Minister Roger Boynes who went to Grenada to attend a sub-committee meeting on the 2007 Cricket World Cup. Culture Minister Joan Yuille-Williams will act for Boynes.
