TT water polo youths go for gold

The young Trinidadians are now in second position after the round robin stage of the five-day tournament.

The Under-20 boys will play third ranked team Curacao, in the first of the two semi-final games while Puerto Rico who is ranked first would play fourth ranked Dominican Republic.

The two first place finishers will face off for the gold medal today.

Roger Rodriguez, the team’s manager is cautiously optimistic when asked about the prospects of the semi-final game against Curacao.

“Curacao is a strong team with an experienced coaching staff.

That aside, our boys have trained hard for exactly this and are playing well.

“Once we keep our focus, we will play for gold (on Friday) today.”
